What is the Microlaser Peel + Profractional laser treatment?

The MicroLaser Peel removes a thin layer of skin (the epidermis) to address surface level texture and pigmentation (i.e pores, fine lines, sun spots), while the Pro-Fractional goes further into the skin to the dermis layer stimulating collagen remodeling that will in turn address deeper textural issues like wrinkles and acne scarring.

What does the it treat?

  • Fine Lines & Wrinkles

  • Sunspots

  • Acne Scarring

  • Texture

  • Pigmentation

  • Enlarged Pores

How many treatments are recommended?

While results can be noticeable with a single treatment, most patients will see the rest results from 4-5 treatments. Your laser tech/ aesthetician can personalize a plan based on your specific needs to tailor your treatment just for your specific concerns.

How to prepare for a laser service?

No sun exposure within the last 2 weeks, no retinol for 2 weeks before, darker skin tones and people with pigmentation issues may need to pre-treat for 4-6 weeks before. No direct sun exposure for 8 weeks post treatment.

What happens during the procedure?

Topical numbing is applied for 30 minutes prior to the treatment. The MLP is done first, then the Pro-Fractional portion after. The laser tech will use cold air and cold compresses during the treatment to help keep you comfortable. The procedure itself lasts about 30-40 minutes depending on how big of an area we are treating (i.e. face, neck, or both face & neck).

What does the healing process/ recovery look like?

You can expect some redness and swelling the first day or two, but most of the redness is gone by day 4. You may experience peeling on days 2-3. By day 5-6 you can wear makeup if you choose. We recommend using Sunbrella from Dr. McLaughlin’s medical grade skincare line with SPF 45. Our aesthetician and laser tech, Kersten, had this laser treatment and took photo documentation of her healing process.

What products should you use post laser?

We recommend Suds, an extra-gentle foamy cleanser, every morning and night.
Day 2: Sunbrella, Broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 40 with a silky, matte-finish, enhanced by the addition of melanin, a naturally occurring anti-oxidant pigment in the skin (morning).
Day 4: Plump, rejuvenating moisture enhancer, a hyaluronic acid-based, oil-free gel (morning and night).
Day 5: Add Drench barrier enhancement moisturizer containing combination of ceramides, fatty acids and cholesterol (morning and night).
